PM Modi To Lay Foundation Stone for Kalki Dham Temple in UP

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated for a day-long visit to Uttar Pradesh on Monday, during which he will lay the foundation stone of the Shri Kalki Dham Temple in Sambhal district. The temple project, spearheaded by the Shri Kalki Dham Nirman Trust, has garnered attention, particularly after its chairman, Acharya Pramod Krishnam, met PM Modi and extended an invitation for the ceremony.

According to PTI, the event, scheduled for around 10:30 am, will witness the presence of various saints, religious leaders, and dignitaries. Later in the day, at approximately 1:45 pm, PM Modi will inaugurate 14,000 projects worth over Rs 10-lakh crore across Uttar Pradesh, as part of the fourth groundbreaking ceremony for investment proposals received during the Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit 2023 (UPGIS 2023).

Supreme Court to Hear PIL on Sandeshkhali Violence Probe

The Supreme Court is set to hear a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) on Monday, February 19, seeking a court-monitored probe into the violence that erupted in West Bengal’s Sandeshkhali village, PTI reported. Filed by Alakh Alok Srivastava, the PIL calls for either a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or Special Investigation Team (SIT) inquiry into the incident. Srivastava, a practicing Supreme Court lawyer, has been actively raising socio-political issues through PILs. The plea also demands compensation for the victims and action against West Bengal Police officials for alleged negligence, as per PTI. Additionally, it seeks the transfer of the probe and trial outside the state, along with an inquiry by a three-judge committee, akin to the Manipur violence case. The violence in Sandeshkhali erupted amid protests over allegations of sexual abuse by a local Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader.

Smiriti Irani And Rahul Gandhi In Amethi

Union Minister Smriti Irani is scheduled to embark on a four-day visit to her parliamentary constituency of Amethi, commencing on Monday. This visit coincides with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra entering the town. Notably, Gandhi, who represented Amethi in the Lok Sabha for 15 years, was defeated by Irani in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. This will be one of the rare instances since 2019 when both leaders will be present in Amethi simultaneously. Irani’s itinerary includes interactions with villagers and attending a house-warming ceremony on February 22. Meanwhile, Gandhi’s visit entails a roadshow and a public meeting in Amethi town.
