In a disconcerting incident unfolding in Quebec, Canada, an international master’s student finds themselves at the heart of a distressing racism episode amid a housing dispute. Preferring to remain nameless, the student initially left a rented room due to plumbing issues, aligning with Quebec’s tenant protection laws to avoid escalating conflicts.
Yet, complications ensued when an Amazon order was mistakenly sent to the previous address. Efforts to retrieve the package resulted in unresponsiveness from the landlord, culminating in a face-to-face confrontation with the landlord’s boyfriend. The situation took a dark turn as racial slurs were directed at the student.

In a recorded exchange, the boyfriend used derogatory language, including labeling the student a “middle eastern bastard” and making disparaging comments about their background and living conditions. The incident, captured on video, serves as indisputable evidence of the disturbing racist behavior.
The video exposed the boyfriend boasting about being a McGill student while spewing racist slurs, intensifying the gravity of the situation given the association with the prestigious institution.
