As prominent world leaders arrive in India for the 18th BRICS Summit, security arrangements across New Delhi have been significantly strengthened. More than 15,000 police personnel and around 200 companies of paramilitary forces have reportedly been deployed to secure the summit and protect visiting heads of state. Security measures extend from the ground to the skies, with authorities maintaining close surveillance across key areas of the capital. India is hosting and chairing the BRICS Summit from September 11 to 13, with leaders from countries including Russia, China, and Iran arriving in Delhi for the high-level gathering. The capital has been extensively prepared and decorated ahead of the event, while security agencies remain on high alert. Apart from the main summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to hold important bilateral meetings with several visiting leaders, including the presidents of China and Iran. Discussions are likely to cover major global and economic issues, including the international financial system, the role of the dollar, global economic challenges, trade, and strategic cooperation. The summit places Delhi at the centre of major international diplomatic discussions.
