China-Bound Iraqi Airways Flight Diverted To Kolkata As Passenger Falls Ill

As per the India Today report, the flight, carrying 100 passengers and 15 crew members, was rerouted to Kolkata about 30 minutes before it was scheduled to land in Guangzhou after a passenger, Dekan Sameer Ahmed, fell ill onboard.

The plane made an emergency landing at 10.18 pm, and medical personnel from the Airport Health Organisation (APHO) determined she had no pulse. Ahmed was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. The flight departed Kolkata at 1.50 am on Thursday with 97 passengers.

Delta Air Lines Diverts Flight To London After Flight Attendants Fall Ill

On June 28, a Delta Air Lines flight from Munich (Germany) to Detroit (US) was diverted to London Heathrow International Airport (LHR) after multiple cabin crew members fell ill.

The aircraft landed safely at LHR, and medical personnel checked six flight attendants to diagnose the illness. None of the 229 passengers onboard the flight experienced the same symptoms.

According to a statement by Delta spokesperson Anthony Black to CBS News, the flight was diverted because several flight attendants fell ill during the flight.

The plane landed safely at Heathrow (LHR), where medical staff examined six flight attendants, attempting to determine the illness and its cause. Fortunately, none of the 229 passengers on board displayed similar symptoms.

The aircraft took off about an hour after landing at LHR, at 16:44 local time, and was rerouted to Boston International Airport (BOS), where a replacement crew was on standby. From Boston, the flight proceeded to its final destination, arriving in Detroit (DTW) at 22:53 local time, seven hours and 43 minutes behind schedule.
