PM Modi Likely To Inaugurate New Campus Of Nalanda University On Wednesday 

PM Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the new campus of Nalanda University in Rajgir, Bihar, on Wednesday, as per the sources. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and ambassadors from 17 nations are expected to attend the inauguration ceremony. 

The new campus is situated near the ancient site. Nalanda University was re-established under the Nalanda University Act of 2010, which implemented a decision from the second East Asia Summit held in the Philippines in 2007. 

The original Nalanda University, founded in the fifth century, was a prominent institution that attracted students from across the globe. It thrived for 800 years until it was destroyed by invaders in the 12th century, as noted by experts, PTI reported.

Delhi Reels From Heatwave Conditions, Relief Likely From June 19 

A severe heat wave hit Delhi, with temperatures reaching 45.2 degrees Celsius on Monday. The weather office forecasts some relief from the intense heat starting June 19.

The city remains on a ‘red’ alert through Tuesday, with the maximum temperature expected to reach 45 degrees Celsius.

As per the report of PTI, most areas in Delhi experienced heatwave to severe heatwave conditions, with the Safdarjung observatory, the city’s main weather station, recording a high of 45.2 degrees Celsius, 6.4 degrees above the seasonal average.

Monday morning was also notably warm, with the minimum temperature at 33 degrees Celsius, 5.5 degrees above normal.

The Palam weather station reported a maximum of 46 degrees Celsius, seven degrees above normal, while the Lodhi Road, Ridge, and Ayanagar observatories recorded temperatures of 45.6 degrees, 46.3 degrees, and 46.4 degrees, respectively. Najafgarh observatory recorded a high of 46.3 degrees Celsius, seven degrees above normal.
