Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Leaves For Delhi, Will Chair JD(U) National Executive Meeting On June 29

Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar departed for Delhi on Friday, one day ahead of the party’s National Executive meeting in the national capital. Kumar, who is the JD(U)’s national president, will preside over the meeting on June 29. Party sources indicated that Kumar will also meet with the party’s Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs at his official residence in Delhi on Friday evening.

As per the report of PTI, the National Executive meeting will be attended by all party MPs, including Union Ministers and senior JD(U) leaders such as Rajiv Ranjan Singh (alias Lallan Singh) and Ramnath Thakur, as well as key leaders from Bihar and other states.

Party insiders revealed that the meeting will cover various topics, including an analysis of the recent Lok Sabha elections and strategies for the 2025 assembly elections. Additionally, the party’s demand for special category status for Bihar from the Centre will be discussed.

Heavy To Very Heavy Rain Likely In Delhi

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rain in the national capital over the weekend. Parts of Delhi experienced showers on Thursday, offering relief from the heat. In its weather bulletin, the IMD forecasted thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30 to 40 kmph in isolated areas of Delhi and other states on June 28.

It also indicated that heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in isolated places in Delhi on June 29 and June 30. According to the IMD, heavy rain ranges from 64.5 mm to 124.4 mm in a day, while very heavy rain is between 124.5 mm and 244.4 mm in a day.
