Parliament’s Monsoon Session Begins Monday, Sitharaman To Present Union Budget On Jul 23

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to present the Union Budget on Tuesday, as the Monsoon Session of Parliament begins next week. The session, starting on Monday, will run for 19 sittings until August 12. The united opposition plans to challenge the NDA government on issues such as the NEET paper leak case and railway safety.

The government aims to introduce six bills during this session, including a bill to replace the 90-year-old Aircraft Act and seek approval for the budget of Jammu and Kashmir, which is currently under central rule. Additionally, Sitharaman will present the Economic Survey in Parliament on Monday.

According to PTI, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has scheduled a meeting with the floor leaders of political parties to discuss the issues they want to address during the session. The BJD, led by former Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik, has announced that it will act as a strong opposition, vigorously raising state-related issues in Parliament.
