What’s going on with OpenAI now that Sam Altman is out?

Over the course of a dramatic three days for the booming artificial intelligence industry, prominent AI leader Sam Altman was ousted from ChatGPT maker OpenAI, the company he co-founded — then quickly hired by its largest investor, Microsoft.

Now his former OpenAI employees are taking a stand en masse to demand Altman’s reinstatement. More than 700 employees, representing the vast majority of the company, signed a letter Monday calling for the current board to resign and for Altman to be reinstated.
