At the time of the incident, the Japan Airlines aircraft had 185 passengers aboard it, while there were 142 passengers on the Delta Airlines’ flight.

The collision occurred as the Japan Airlines Boeing 787, arriving from Narita International Airport in Tokyo, was taxiing on the runway. According to a statement from Japan Airlines, the right wing of their aircraft struck the rear of Delta Air Lines plane. Delta’s Boeing 737 was waiting for de-icing procedures at the time.

No Casualty In Seattle Plane Collision

Airport authorities said no passenger or crew member was injured in the accident. All passengers were safely escorted off the planes. One passenger aboard Delta Flight, Jason Chan, mentioned that after the collision, the aircraft “rocked back and forth,” but passengers remained calm, and eventually, everyone was safely returned to the terminal.

The FAA stated that it would conduct a thorough investigation into the incident. However, the collision had minimal impact on operations at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Airport response teams worked to move the damaged planes off the taxiway. A spokesperson for Delta Airlines confirmed that the 142 passengers bound for Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, were transferred to a new aircraft.
