US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that Washington completed a “very successful attack” on three nuclear sites in Iran including Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordow.
“We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
“Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE! Thank you for your attention to this matter,” he added.
The US military action comes amid aerial combat between Iran and Israel for more than a week resulting in deaths and injuries on both sides.
According to a senior Israeli official, the US deployed six B-2 stealth bombers in the strike on Iran reported Axios. The official also said the Trump administration had notified Israel in advance about the strikes.
“Israel is much safer now,” Trump told Axios in a phone call after the strikes. He will hold a press conference at 10 pm EST (7:30 am IST).
