A man from New Jersey is suing Donald Trump’s hotel in Miami for misleading him into believing that the swimming pool he was using was deep.
Salvatore Musumeci Jr. claimed he was at Trump National Doral Miami on business in February 2023 when he jumped feet-first into a swimming pool he says was marked on the pool deck as being 6 feet 3 inches deep, as per a TMZ report.
However, according to the man, the pool depth was actually 3 feet and 6 inches, adding that he sustained serious and permanent personal injuries as a result of jumping into the “shallow, mismarked” pool.
Salvatore is suing the Trump Organisation and Trump International Hotel Group for what he alleges is negligently and carelessly maintaining the pool area and pool deck by mismarking the depth of the pool.
He has claimed that the injury has caused him pain and suffering that required medical treatment, adding that the ordeal resulted in costly medical expenses.
Earlier this month, the Chicago division of the family business made the headlines after a 21-year-old man from Ohio was hit with felony charges after guns were discovered inside a room at the Trump International Hotel and Tower in Chicago.
Oakwood native, Brand Peck is not facing two charges for unlawful use of a weapon and an additional misdemeanour charge, the Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney told ABC7.
The man will be held in custody trial following a judge’s rule.
