New Delhi: Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, who is on a two-day trip to India, reached New Delhi on Thursday, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in a statement. According to MEA, EAM S Jaishankar invited his Ukrainian counterpart to India, a fact both acknowledged by the ministry’s statement and echoed by Minister Kuleba himself through a post on social media upon his arrival in the national capital.

Kuleba, in his social media update, emphasised his role as a facilitator of communication between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the pursuit of a peaceful resolution with Russia.

Taking to X, Kuleba wrote, “I began my visit to New Delhi upon @DrSJaishankar’s invitation. The Ukrainian-Indian cooperation is important and we will be reinvigorating ties. Building on the dialogue between @ZelenskyyUa and @NarendraModi we will pay specific attention to the Peace Formula.”

During his stay, Kuleba is slated to participate in various engagements outlined by the ministry, including discussions with Jaishankar and the Deputy National Security Advisor, covering bilateral cooperation and shared interests in regional and global affairs. Additionally, he is expected to engage with representatives from the business sector, as per reports.

Earlier this month, President Zelenskyy and Prime Minister Modi engaged in a telephonic conversation, during which Zelenskyy urged India to assume a peace-making role in the ongoing conflict of Russia with Ukraine, a sentiment reciprocated by PM Modi.
