UK General Election 2024: The Labour Party is set to sweep the UK general elections with a landslide majority as exit polls figures showed a crushing defeat for Prime Minister Rishi Sunak after voting closed in the country on Monday. If the exit poll predictions come out true, Sir Keir Starmer will become the prime minister with 410 Labour MPs, just short of Tony Blair’s 1997 total.

According to an exit poll for the BBC, ITV, and the Sky, Labour is set to win the elections with a majority of 170 while the Conservatives are predicted to slump to 131 MPs, their lowest number ever.

The Liberal Democrats are projected to finish third with 61 MPs. The number of MPs from the Scottish National Party is also expected to fall to 10 while Reform UK is likely to send 13 MPs, as per the exit poll, reported BBC.
