Carlson’s remarks come in the wake of the first US presidential debate, with the former Fox News host criticising what he termed as “Democratic operatives posing as journalists” on CNN.
According to Sky News Australia, Carlson alleged that the media feigned disbelief at Biden’s condition, stating, “But for the media today to be like, wow, we just got the diagnosis, this is shocking, he can’t run for president. Either they’re really stupid … or they’re liars, they’re truly dishonest, they’re hiding the obvious from you.”
In a social media post, Carlson further claimed that prominent Democrats are now suggesting Biden is “brain damaged” and that he should be removed from the presidential race. “Biden is done. Carlson also commented on the possibility of Vice President Kamala Harris stepping in, noting, “If Kamala’s going to be the nominee, she might as well be the president first.”
Addressing the situation involving former President Donald Trump and his impending sentencing, Carlson remarked, “That leaves the question of Trump, and his sentencing on July 11. Biden’s collapse makes this a much more perilous moment than it was. At this point Trump is not just the Republican candidate, but effectively the presumptive president.”
Carlson issued a stark warning about the potential repercussions of incarcerating Trump, suggesting it could lead to the destruction of the political system. “If you’re going to put him in jail, it had better be for a very serious crime that everyone agrees he committed. Otherwise you risk destroying the system completely and forever. We’re in legitimate danger. Democrats need to pull back,” he posted on X.

Carlson indicated that relations between the Obamas and the Bidens have been strained, particularly due to Jill Biden’s influence on her husband’s campaign. He claimed, “In the hours and days after the debate, she kept her husband cloistered away from anyone who might convince him to drop out. Jill Biden is the driving force behind her husband’s reelection campaign, just as she was in 2020, when other members of the family (including Biden’s sister Val) considered him too impaired to run.”
Furthermore, Carlson suggested that other Democratic candidates are viewing this as an opportunity, specifically mentioning Gretchen Whitmer, who he said is “promoting herself aggressively.”
