Trans-Hormuz: 20 Ships Transit Hormuz as US Claims Blockade is Holding

Fresh reports indicate that two commercial vessels carrying flags of Liberia and Comoros have departed from Iranian ports despite claims of an ongoing US naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz. According to maritime tracking data, more than 20 ships have already transited the region, raising questions about the effectiveness of the reported blockade and the operational control of the waterways near Iran. The situation comes amid heightened tensions involving the United States and its military presence in the Gulf. Earlier reports suggested that US naval deployments were aimed at restricting Iranian maritime exports, but continued vessel movement indicates partial or limited enforcement. In parallel, a new Reuters–Ipsos survey highlights divided American public opinion on the conflict. The poll suggests only around 35% of Americans support US strikes on Iran, while a majority express concerns about the war’s consequences and its impact on civilian life. Analysts say this reflects growing domestic debate in the US over foreign military involvement and long-term strategic costs.
