‘Tiger Triumph-24’: India-US Tri-Service Exercise For Humanitarian Assistance, Disaster Relief Begins

A bilateral tri-service Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) exercise between India and the US, named ‘Tiger Triumph-24’, commenced on Monday on the Eastern Seaboard and will continue until March 31. The exercise, aimed at developing interoperability for conducting HADR operations and refining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for seamless coordination, involves participation from various branches of the armed forces of both countries.

According to a statement from the Indian Navy and the Ministry Of Defence, Indian Navy Ships with integral helicopters and landing crafts embarked, Indian Navy aircraft, Indian Army personnel and vehicles, Indian Air Force aircraft and helicopters, along with the Rapid Action Medical Team (RAMT), will be participating in the exercise. The US will be represented by US Navy Ships with embarked troops of the US Marine Corps and US Army.

Tiger Triumph-24: Harbour and Sea Phases

The exercise comprises two main phases. The Harbour Phase, scheduled from March 18 to March 25, will involve personnel from both navies participating in various activities including Training Visits, Subject Matter Expert Exchanges, Sports Events, and Social Interactions. Subsequently, the Sea Phase will commence, during which the participating ships, with the embarked troops, will undertake Maritime, Amphibious, and HADR operations based on simulated scenarios, as informed by the Navy.

Tiger Triumph-24: Harbour and Sea Phases

The exercise comprises two main phases. The Harbour Phase, scheduled from March 18 to March 25, will involve personnel from both navies participating in various activities including Training Visits, Subject Matter Expert Exchanges, Sports Events, and Social Interactions. Subsequently, the Sea Phase will commence, during which the participating ships, with the embarked troops, will undertake Maritime, Amphibious, and HADR operations based on simulated scenarios, as informed by the Navy.

The exercise will culminate with a closing ceremony upon completion of the Sea Phase, marking the successful conclusion of ‘Tiger Triumph-24’.

A bilateral tri-service Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) exercise between India and the US, named ‘Tiger Triumph-24’, commenced on Monday on the Eastern Seaboard and will continue until March 31. The exercise, aimed at developing interoperability for conducting HADR operations and refining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for seamless coordination, involves participation from various branches of the armed forces of both countries.

According to a statement from the Indian Navy and the Ministry Of Defence, Indian Navy Ships with integral helicopters and landing crafts embarked, Indian Navy aircraft, Indian Army personnel and vehicles, Indian Air Force aircraft and helicopters, along with the Rapid Action Medical Team (RAMT), will be participating in the exercise. The US will be represented by US Navy Ships with embarked troops of the US Marine Corps and US Army.

“The exercise is aimed at developing interoperability for conducting HADR operations and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to enable rapid and smooth coordination between forces of both countries,” the statement added.
