A YouTuber and Kick streamer Jack Doherty, recently made headlines for crashing his $200,000 McLaren supercar after losing control of the wheels on Miami Highway. Doherty had purchased the McLaren for $202,850.10 late last year, as mentioned on his YouTube channel. The YouTuber with over 15 million followers was livestreaming when the incident took place. The 20-year-old was texting while driving on a rainy day, which led to him getting distracted, and soon he lost control of the steering. He started screaming and crashed into a guardrail, which left him and the cameraman injured.

Footage of the incident has been doing the rounds on X, showcasing Doherty’s reckless driving. His cameraman, Michael, was in the passenger seat.

While livestreaming on Kick, Doherty was involved in a high-speed crash when his car lost control and slammed into a guardrail. In the video, both Doherty and the cameraman are heard shouting for help as they struggle to escape the wreck, with the cameraman visibly bleeding from his head and ears. A clip posted on Doherty’s X account (formerly Twitter) captures the aftermath, showing him pleading for assistance as bystanders attempt to break into the driver’s side window to free them.

Before asking his cameraman if he was okay or not, Doherty was seen lamenting and saying, “All my money’s gone,” as he details the expensive upgrades he invested in for the car.

Instead of focusing on his friend’s well-being, Doherty asked bystanders to hold the camera so he could continue filming the aftermath, even asking if Michael had captured the crash. Following heavy criticism, Doherty has removed several clips from the earlier part of the livestream, which showed him using his phone during the incident.

Kick Takes Action, Bans Doherty’s Account

After the crash, Kick suspended Doherty’s account. According to Sportskeeda, around 185,000 people were watching the livestream when the accident took place. Kick’s community guidelines emphasize the need to prioritize personal and public safety, urging users to avoid participating in reckless activities.

Kick in a statement to People said, it “does not condone illegal activity, which is why we swiftly took action and moved to ban this creator from the platform.”
