Protests in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) have intensified, with demonstrations spreading to Muzaffarabad amid rising public anger against the administration and security forces. According to the report, thousands of people took to the streets after Friday prayers, expressing anger over alleged violence during clashes in areas including Rawalakot, Mirpur, and Kotli. Protesters reportedly blocked roads, burned banners of pro-Pakistan political groups, and raised demands related to basic rights, food security, and political representation. The report claims that clashes between protesters and Pakistani Rangers resulted in multiple deaths and injuries, with allegations of excessive force being used against demonstrators. The unrest has reportedly continued for several weeks, with protests also being reported in cities such as Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi. Indian officials reiterated India’s position that Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh are integral parts of India while commenting on developments in the region. The report also highlighted remarks by Pakistani officials regarding past militant activities and security challenges. The ongoing protests have become a major political challenge for Pakistan’s government and security establishment.
