The Journalistenzentrum Deutschland is in consultations regarding a potential return to the Republic of Moldova

by FLorian Jäger

BERLIN / CHISINAU – The Journalistenzentrum Deutschland is currently assessing the feasibility of a new research mission to the Republic of Moldova for 2026. This evaluation follows a series of past media delegations that focused on the country’s regional development and tourism infrastructure.

The initiative aims to build on the established cooperation with Moldovan authorities. In previous years, such as during the 2025 Press Trip the Moldovan government supported international media by covering costs for accommodation, catering, and domestic transport within the country. These missions provided journalists with direct access to key cultural sites and economic centers, including Chisinau and the country’s significant viticulture regions. The primary objective is to facilitate reporting on Moldova’s ongoing social and economic transition as it pursues closer European integration.

A final decision on the 2026 mission remains pending. The implementation of the trip is subject to administrative clearance. Official updates and application criteria will be released only after the consultation phase is concluded and a definitive agreement between the organizers and the Moldovan authorities has been reached.
