Tensions between the United States and Iran have escalated once again despite an earlier ceasefire, with the U.S. reportedly carrying out major airstrikes on multiple locations inside Iran. According to reports, American forces targeted strategic military installations and air defence systems near the Strait of Hormuz, including radar facilities and sites allegedly linked to Iran’s drone programme. The strikes came after U.S. President Donald Trump claimed that an American AH-64 Apache helicopter had been brought down by an Iranian drone while on patrol over the region, although no public evidence was provided to support the allegation. The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that an Apache helicopter was involved in an incident near the coast of Oman and stated that the cause was under investigation, while also noting that both pilots were safe. Media reports indicate that missile strikes were carried out at several locations, including Qeshm Island, Bandar Abbas, Minab, Sirik, and other areas associated with Iranian military infrastructure. Iranian state media has also acknowledged attacks on multiple sites, raising fears of renewed military confrontation and further instability in the region.
