MAGISNAT Presents Its Ongoing Research Work at the Georgia State Capitol

Atlanta, GA – May 13, 2025 – MAGISNAT OMICS LLC, a biotechnology spin-off based at Atlanta Tech Park, held an event at the Georgia State Capitol to share the progress made during its first year of activity in the United States. The initiative brought together scientists, local institutions, and representatives to discuss how omics-based research can contribute to the broader goal of improving preventive health strategies.

The event was introduced by Dr. Pietro Chiurazzi, medical genetics professor and MAGISNAT co-founder, who outlined the company’s work in applying omics science to wellness and offered remarks on the societal and institutional dimensions of international scientific collaboration. 

Filiberto Calascibetta, Italian Honorary Consul in Atlanta, highlighted the significance of international cooperation in science. Contributions also came from Nick Masino, President and CEO of the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce, and Robin Bienfait, Founder of Atlanta Tech Park, who emphasized the role of ecosystems in supporting biotech startups.

Scientific insights were provided by Dr. Stephen Thadeus Connelly, UCSF Professor and MAGISNAT co-founder, which was present through a letter and who explained the value of translational research. Dr. Vishnu Suppiramaniam, Kennesaw State University Professor spoke on how the bridge Industry-Academy is crucial. Financial aspects were addressed by Dr. Giuseppe Oriani, Chairman of Savills Investment Management SGR.

MAGISNAT President Dr. Matteo Bertelli presented a summary of the company’s recent patents, such as the one which pertains the Lipedema, and CEO Dr. Kevin Donato outlined the vision that aim to support personalized health through genomic, proteomic, and metabolic data analysis.
