The Princess of Wales, Kate, announced on Monday that she has completed her chemotherapy and plans to resume some light program of Public engagements until the end of the year. The 42-year-old wife of Prince William announced in March that she was undergoing treatment for an undisclosed type of cancer.

The British Princess, who has spoken about having both good and bad days during her treatment, was last seen in public at the men’s final at Wimbledon in July, where she was visibly moved by a standing ovation from the crowd. “Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown,’’ she shared in a video filmed in a forest, which also featured her entire family.

She described the cancer journey as “complex, scary, and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you,” adding, “It also humbles you, confronting you with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything.”

Princess Likely To Make A Few Appearances, Full Return To Public Role To Take More Time

According to a BBC report, the princess is likely to make a few appearances later this year, possibly including the annual Remembrance service at the Cenotaph. However, palace sources told the broadcaster that a full return to her public role is still some way off, with her health remaining her primary focus over the coming months.

“My journey to healing and full recovery is a long one, and I must continue to take each day as it comes,” she said. Despite the challenges, she added that her experience has brought her a “renewed sense of hope and appreciation for life.”

Her health issues began in January when she was hospitalised for an undisclosed abdominal surgery. In March, she revealed in a video message that she had been diagnosed with cancer and would need privacy during her treatment and recovery.

Catherine has been focusing on her recovery and has largely stayed away from public duties during what has been a challenging year.
