An Indian mountain climber has gone missing at Mt Annapurna in Nepal. An official of the climber’s expedition organiser told the IANS that Anurag Maloo, who is also an entrepreneur, fell into a crevasse below Camp III on Monday while returning from Camp IV. The 34-year-old Anurag Maloo hails from Kishangarh in Rajasthan. According to Mingma Sherpa, Chairman of Seven Summit Treks, he went missing after falling while descending from Camp III at approximately 6,000 meters.

According to Mingma Sherpa, chairman of Seven Summit Treks, which organised the trekking expedition, Maloo has been missing since Monday morning. He went missing while descending from Camp III of Mt. Annapurna.
Maloo is determined to climb every one of the 14 peaks above 8,000m and seven summits to create awareness about the UN Sustainable Development Goals, as per Himalayan Times paper.
“We had launched an extensive search for Malu shortly after he went missing. However, till evening we have not succeeded in locating him,” Sherpa said.
“We will continue the search on Tuesday,” he added.
According to reports in the local media, Maloo was given the REX KaramVeer Chakra and appointed the Indian Antarctic Youth Ambassador for 2041.
At 8,091 meters above sea level, Annapurna is the world’s tenth-highest mountain. Because of the difficulty and risk of its ascent, it is well-known.
Three Sherpas were buried on Mt. Everest just last Wednesday of the previous week.
The three guides got buried after a gigantic ice sheet of in excess of 50 meters tumbled down the mountain, beneath Camp 1 at 5,700 meters, as per the officials. According to the officials, the three Sherpas’ current locations are unknown.
