The chief of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), Maulana Fazlur Rehman has alleged that the attack on former Prime Minister Imran Khan was a “drama”. He commented that Imran Khan has outshined Indian actors Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan in terms of acting skills. Khan, who was shot in the right leg on Thursday, underwent a successful operation and was released from the hospital on Sunday. He is currently living in a private home in Lahore.
Rahman said: “Initially I had sympathised with Imran Khan upon hearing about the Wazirabad episode, but now it seems that it was a drama,” as per the report of the Dawn newspaper.
He claimed that the ambiguity surrounding Khan’s injuries was cause for concern. According to the report, it was unclear if “a single shot was fired at Imran or more” and whether the injury was “on one leg or on both,” the report added.
Maulana Fazl also pointed out that it was intriguing that Khan “was taken to Lahore instead of being admitted to a nearby hospital (in Wazirabad)”.

We have heard bomb fragments but heard of bullet fragments for the first time.” He added, “Why is he being treated at a cancer hospital for bullet injuries.”
Khan underwent the surgery for gunshot wounds at the Shaukat Khanum Hospital which coincidentally is owned by his charitable organisation only.
