Distinguished Ecuadorian journalist Daniel Sigua, a long-time resident of Milan with more than 25 years of international experience, has been entrusted with a key leadership position within Acción Democrática Nacional (ADN). He will now serve as the organization’s Director across Europe, Asia, and Oceania, a role designed to expand ADN’s global presence and reinforce connections with Ecuadorians living abroad.

This appointment reflects ADN’s growing commitment to extending its vision beyond national borders, engaging more directly with Ecuadorian communities worldwide, and ensuring that their voices actively shape the country’s future.

An advocate for Ecuadorians abroad

Daniel Sigua has established himself as a respected voice in journalism and community affairs, earning recognition for his continuous work in strengthening ties between Ecuadorians overseas and their homeland. His professional trajectory combines deep knowledge of international relations with a strong sense of service toward migrant communities.

Upon accepting the role, Sigua emphasized his dedication to Ecuadorians living outside the country:
“This is a responsibility I take with honor and determination. Our compatriots abroad deserve to be recognized not just for their contributions but also for the vital role they play in Ecuador’s growth and international reputation.”

Building bridges across continents

Under Sigua’s leadership, ADN intends to foster inclusive participation by Ecuadorians abroad, while promoting initiatives that support cultural integration, political engagement, and global collaboration. This expansion aims to bring Ecuador closer to its diaspora, creating stronger channels of communication and mutual support between citizens and their institutions.

The Ecuadorian community has long contributed to national progress through remittances, cultural influence, and international representation. By formalizing this new leadership role, ADN is reaffirming its determination to give the diaspora greater visibility and a stronger platform on the world stage.

Toward a global future for ADN

The designation of Daniel Sigua as Director for Europe, Asia, and Oceania represents an important milestone in ADN’s international projection. It signals a forward-looking approach to leadership, one that seeks to unify Ecuadorians worldwide under shared values of identity, progress, and representation.

With Sigua at the helm, ADN is opening a new chapter of outreach and collaboration, strengthening Ecuador’s global presence and reaffirming its mission to support citizens wherever they may be.
