A chopper has crashed into the Hudson River in New York, the city police has said. At least one person has died in the crash, reported BBC.
“Due to a helicopter crash in the Hudson River, in the vicinity of the West Side Highway and Spring Street, expect emergency vehicles and traffic delays in the surrounding areas,” the New York Police Department [NYPD] said on X.

As per FlightRadar 24, the chopper was a Bell 206L-4 LongRanger IV. Two persons have been rescued from the wreckage so far, as per reports.
Videos circulating online showed police boats rushing to the rescue in the Hudson River between Manhattan and Jersey City.

The crash occurred close to the shore near Pier 40. The total number of passengers on board is not known yet.
