At least 12 people were injured in a shooting incident in Canada’s Toronto on Friday night. The Toronto police are investigating the shooting at a pub in Scarborough.
Authorities said the suspect has managed to flee, but a hunt is on to nab him. Emergency crews rushed to the scene near Progress Avenue and Corporate Drive around 10:40 PM after reports of gunfire. Paramedics confirmed that the victims sustained injuries ranging from minor to critical, with several transported to trauma centers for urgent care.

Firefighters were also called in for rescue operations, reported Canadian news website CBC. However, officials have not yet released details about the victims.
Toronto Police Release Initial Details About Suspect
The police have urged the public to inform them if they were aware of any details about the shooter. The Toronto Police said They have also set up a command post near the pub and closed Progress Avenue between Ellesmere & Hwy 401. The police have asked the public to take alternative routes.

In its primary assessment, the police said the suspect was wearing a black balaclava and was seen fleeing in a silver car.
Toronto Mayor ‘Deeply Troubled’
Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow said: “I am deeply troubled to hear reports of a shooting at a pub in Scarborough. I have spoken to Chief Demkiw and he has assured me all necessary resources have been deployed. This is an early and ongoing investigation – police will provide further details. My thoughts are with the victims and their families.”
