Ram Lalla to Receive ‘Surya Abhishek’

Ram Lalla, the revered deity in Ayodhya, is set to be honored with a unique celestial event termed as ‘Surya Abhishek’ on April 17. This extraordinary phenomenon involves capturing and redirecting sun rays onto the deity through a meticulously designed optical apparatus. The innovative setup utilises a Fabry-Perot cavity, a device renowned for its precision in manipulating light, to ensure that sunbeams precisely illuminate the forehead of Lord Ram at precisely noon on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami, IANS reported.

According to the plan, the sun’s rays will grace the forehead of Ram Lalla for approximately four minutes, forming a circular pattern spanning 75 millimeters. Initially slated for initiation post the completion of the temple construction, the Ram temple trust altered its plans following appeals from revered saints and seers.

Consequently, scientists from CBRI (Central Building Research Institute) volunteered to orchestrate the arrangements for the ‘Surya Abhishek’ during the inaugural Ram Navami celebrations at the newly constructed temple complex, according to IANS.

Leh Apex Body to Embark on March to Address Shepherd Concerns

The Leh Apex Body (LAB) is poised to embark on a significant journey, commencing a five-day foot march to Skang Chu-Thang near the Himachal Pradesh border on April 17, PTI reported. This initiative aims to engage with shepherds allegedly facing land acquisition challenges due to major industrial projects. Sonam Wangchuk, a prominent climate activist, elucidated that the march, involving around 20 participants, intends to extend to Changthang near the China border, subject to governmental approval.

The LAB, in collaboration with the Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA), has been at the forefront of advocating for Ladakh’s statehood and its inclusion in the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution for the past four years. Wangchuk expressed dismay over unwarranted labelling of their movement as anti-national, emphasising that their sole objective is to advocate for the welfare of Ladakhi residents, PTI reported.

Previously, the LAB had planned a border march on April 7 to spotlight issues faced by farmers but retracted the call following governmental restrictions. Acknowledging the sensitivity of the region, Wangchuk emphasised the peaceful intent of the march, paying homage to B.R. Ambedkar for crafting a constitution that upholds the rights and freedoms of every citizen.
