PM Modi To Address Mass Gathering Of Women In Kerala Today: 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a crowd of 2 lakh women in Thrissur on Wednesday, officially sounding the poll bugle for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The convention, titled ‘Sthree Shakthi Modikk Oppam’ (Empower Women with Modi), is being organised by the Kerala unit of the BJP to congratulate Modi on the successful passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill in both Houses of Parliament.

Women from various backgrounds, including anganwadi teachers, ASHA workers, entrepreneurs, artists, MGNREGA and neighbourhood network workers, and social and cultural activists, are expected to attend the event.

SC To Pronounce Judgement On Adani-Hindenburg Row On Jan 3: 

The Supreme Court will rule on a slew of petitions in the Adani-Hindenburg dispute on Wednesday, alleging stock price manipulation by the Indian conglomerate.

A bench consisting of Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud and Justices J B Pardiwala and Manoj Misra will rule on up to four petitions at 10:30 a.m.

The decision on the PILs, filed by lawyers Vishal Tiwari, M L Sharma, and Congress leader Jaya Thakur, as well as Anamika Jaiswal, was reserved on November 24 of last year.

The petitions alleged that the Adani Group, which is close to the Modi government, inflated its share prices and that, following the report of the short seller Hindenburg Research, the share value of various group entities plummeted sharply.

YS Sharmila To Meet AICC Leaders In Delhi Today: 

Y S Sharmila, the founder of the YSR Telangana party, will travel to Delhi on Wednesday to finalise her party’s merger with the Congress, news agency PTI reported citing sources.

Sharmila, who presided over her party’s meeting today, stated that she and other leaders will meet with top Congress leaders, including AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, and make a “crucial” announcement in Delhi today.

Sharmila is the daughter of late Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and the younger sister of Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

JMM-Led Coalition To Meet On Wednesday: 

The ruling JMM-led coalition has called a meeting of its legislators in Ranchi on Wednesday, amid speculation about the possible anointment of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s wife.

The recent summons to Chief Minister Hemant Soren by the Enforcement Directorate, combined with JMM’s Gandey legislator Sarfaraz Ahmad’s abrupt resignation on Monday, sparked the speculation.

The opposition BJP claims Ahmad was forced to resign so that the chief minister’s wife, Kalpana Soren, could run for the Gandey seat in the event of an ED action against Soren.
