A Boeing cargo plane crash-landed on its nose after the front landing on its nose in Istanbul airport. The 767 cargo aircraft nosedived as the landing gears failed to unfold sending sparks on the runway.
The Boeing aircraft, belonging to Fedex, made an emergency landing in Istanbul Airport, after narrowly avoiding a crash. The plane was travelling from Paris to Istanbul.
The cargo plane landed only in the second attempt, while it was also seen sending sparks while flying. Even while landing, the front wheels of the aircraft seemed to have stopped working.

During the emergency landing attempt, the nose of the plane fell forward and dipped to a halt. Following the landing, emergency vehicles rushed to the spot.

According to Turkey’s transportation and infrastructure minister, Abdulkadir Uraloglu, there was no one reportedly injured in the accident and the crew of the plane were able to safely evacuate.
In an official notification, Turkey’s Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure said the pilot had informed the Istanbul Airport air traffic control (ATC) about some issue with the front landing gear and that it could not be deployed.
Istanbul Airport operator IGA added, “The accident was taken under control without any loss of life with the immediate intervention of the İGA Istanbul Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting team (ARFF), which was ready on the runway before the controlled landing on the fuselage.”
There have been frequent cases of flight accidents with Boeing planes lately. Earlier, in January 2024, a Boeing 747 Delta Airlines plane lost its front tyre. In the same month, a Boeing Alaska Airlines window ripped.
In March, a wheel fell off a Boeing 777 United Airlines plane, while in a second case, a Boeing 787 LATAM LA800 made a nosedive injuring 50 people.
