  • Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari denied engagement rumors to an Austrian princess.
  • Speculation diverted attention from Pakistan’s critical issues, he added.
  • His family will announce any genuine marriage decision directly.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has broken his silence on reports linking him to an Austrian princess, saying neither has his marriage match been finalised nor has he got engaged. Bilawal also said he does not know anyone named Princess Gloria. His video statement comes a day after reports claimed that he was set to marry into a European royal family, prompting speculation about his personal life. Bilawal said any decision concerning his marriage would be announced by his family and accused social media speculation of diverting attention from Pakistan’s real issues.

Bilawal Denies Reports

In a video statement, Bilawal directly rejected the reports surrounding his alleged engagement and marriage.

“I want to make it clear that neither has the match been finalised nor have I got engaged. Neither do I know any Princess Gloria,” he said.

The clarification follows reports that had linked President Asif Ali Zardari’s recent European visit to discussions over a possible marriage for his son. Some reports claimed that the Bhutto-Zardari family was considering a match with a woman associated with the former Austrian imperial family.

Senior PPP leader and Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab had also previously dismissed reports of Bilawal’s engagement or marriage as “incorrect and unfounded”.

‘Focus On Real Issues’

Bilawal said the attention surrounding his alleged marriage was being amplified to distract people from more important matters facing Pakistan.

He argued that “social media spectacles” were being hyped to divert public attention from the country’s actual problems. He urged people to focus on those issues instead of speculation about his personal life.

Bilawal also made it clear that any genuine decision about his marriage or engagement would be announced by his family.

“If any such personal decision regarding my life is made, the announcement will come directly from my family,” he said.
