The violence against the Hindu minority in Bangladesh continues. Yet another video of a Hindu youth’s appeal for protection and justice has gone viral on social media. The youth was thrashed by miscreants who barged into his home and thrashed him. The victim is purportedly a member of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) in Bangladesh.

Soon after the incident, the youth recorded a video seeking justice. He said: “Can’t we get justice? We are being asked to leave our country and go to India. Isn’t this country ours? Didn’t our forefathers fight for this nation? Our relatives were killed in the war. Will this continue forever?” He goes on to show the miscreants who barged into his house and terrorised his family members, including a child.

He further alleged that even the police were not helping them.

Extremists have attacked an ISKCON member in Dhaka’s Uttara with the intention of killing him. The victim went live on social media and described the horrific attack.#AllEyesOnBangladeshiHindus @RadharamnDas @IskconInc @HinduVoice_in @TulsiGabbard @PMOIndia @adgpi @visegrad24 pic.twitter.com/zSoAEzuADC

ISKCON is being targeted in Bangladesh, the organisation alleged last week, citing the destruction of a temple and a community centre run by it. Earlier, a former ISKCON priest, Chinmoy Krishna Das, was arrested and is now awaiting bail. Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, spokesperson of the Bangladesh Sammilita Sanatani Jagran Jote and head of the Pundarik Dham in the Chittagong district of Bangladesh, will now have to wait at least till January 2, 2025, for his hearing to take place.

Chinmoy Krishna Das was arrested at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on November 27 on charges of treason in Bangladesh.
