IMD Predicts Light Rain In Delhi On June 14
The IMD has predicted light rain in Delhi on Friday, which could provide relief from the intense heat affecting the national capital.
On Thursday, the Safdarjung Observatory, Delhi’s official weather station, recorded a maximum temperature of 44.8 degrees Celsius, 4.9 degrees above normal.
The Najafgarh weather station reported a high of 45.1 degrees Celsius, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

According to PTI, an ‘orange’ alert, indicating the need to “be prepared,” was in effect for the national capital during the day. The relative humidity ranged from 15 percent to 58 percent, as per the IMD bulletin.
The forecast for Friday includes partly cloudy skies with possible thunderstorms and light rain or drizzle in some areas during the afternoon and evening.
Excise Policy Case: Delhi Court To Hear CM Kejriwal’s Regular Bail Plea On June 14
A Delhi court postponed the hearing of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s regular bail plea in a money laundering case related to the alleged excise policy scam to June 14. Special Judge Kaveri Baweja of the Rouse Avenue Court recently rejected Kejriwal’s interim bail request, which sought a seven-day release on medical grounds.
According to IANS, on Friday, Kejriwal’s lawyer requested more time to review the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) response to the bail plea, as they had received it just minutes before the hearing. The lawyer asked the court to schedule the matter before a vacation bench since trial courts will begin their vacation on Saturday. The hearing is now set for June 14.
Previously, when denying Kejriwal’s interim bail, the court had ordered specific diagnostic tests for him. Kejriwal appeared via video conference from Tihar Jail, and Judge Baweja remanded him to judicial custody until June 19.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta and Additional Solicitor General S.V. Raju, representing the ED, argued that the bail plea was not valid and criticized Kejriwal’s conduct, accusing him of “misusing” interim bail for campaigning purposes.
