MoS Kirti Vardhan To Visit Kuwait To Oversee Relief Measures

MoS Kirti Vardhan Singh will travel to Kuwait to oversee the relief measures and ensure expeditious repatration of the mortal remains of the Indian workers who lost their lives. The visit comes after at least 49 people, mostly Indians, were killed in a fire incident in Kuwait on Wednesday.

MoS Singh stated that India stands with the victims of the Kuwait fire incident and “we express our sympathy to them”. The decision of Singh’s visit to Kuwait was made following an urgent meeting with PM Naremdra Modi. 

The government of India has announced ex-gratia relief of Rs 2 lakh to the kin of the deceased from the PM Relief Fund.

Chandrababu Naidu To Assume Charge As Andhra’s CM Today

The newly-elected Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N Chandrababu Naidu, will assume charge of office on Thursday at 4:41 pm.

According to PTI, Naidu, along with his family members, left for Tirupati on Wednesday evening, and stayed there overnight. Today mornig he will visit the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple.

The TDP chief was was sworn in as chief minister with in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several dignitaries on June 12.

The Andhra Pradesh CM will be signing files related to poll promises, as a part of which he will sign a file for the recruitment of teachers. 

“He will also sign a file “abolishing “ the Land Titling Act” that the previous YSR Congress government tried to implement,” PTI reported citing sources.

Besides this, Naidu will also sign a file to increase the social pension for beneficiaries from the existing Rs 3000 to Rs 4,000 per month. 

“He will also clear files pertaining to undertaking skill census in the state and setting up ‘Anna canteens’,” PTI reported citing TDP sources.
