Kejriwal To Be Back In Jail On Sunday As Court Puts Off Decision On Interim Bail

With his three-week temporary bail for election campaigning expiring, Arvind Kejriwal, the AAP convener and Chief Minister of Delhi, will return to Tihar Jail on Sunday. This follows a court’s decision to postpone its ruling on his request for interim bail on medical grounds until June 5.

According to sources within the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Kejriwal is expected to visit Mahatma Gandhi’s memorial at Raj Ghat, the party office at DDU Marg, and a temple on June 2 before heading to Tihar Jail around 3 pm.

On the eve of his surrender, Kejriwal convened a meeting of the AAP’s Political Affairs Committee at his residence and later attended a meeting of the INDIA bloc at Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s residence, as per PTI report.

Key AAP figures, including Cabinet minister Atishi, Rajya Sabha MPs Raghav Chadha and Sanjay Singh, and MLA Durgesh Pathak, participated in the PAC meeting. Sources indicate that the chief minister stressed the importance of maintaining unity among party leaders during his absence.

Air India’s Delhi-Vancouver Flight Faces Delay; Rescheduled For Sunday

Air India’s flight from New Delhi to Vancouver, which was supposed to depart early Saturday morning, experienced a significant delay due to technical issues. The airline has announced that the flight has been rescheduled and is now planned to depart early Sunday morning.

This marks the second time in three days that an Air India ultra-long-haul flight has faced substantial delays. Following a delay of over 30 hours, the airline’s Delhi to San Francisco flight, originally scheduled for departure around 3:30 PM on Thursday, finally took off at 9:55 PM on Friday.

According to PTI, an Air India spokesperson stated on Saturday, “AI185, scheduled for Delhi to Vancouver on June 1, was delayed due to technical issues and subsequently because the crew exceeded the mandatory Flight Duty Time Limitations.” The spokesperson added that the flight is anticipated to depart early on June 2, expressing regret for the inconvenience caused to passengers due to the operational disruption.
