The police arrested a man in China for allegedly of driving his car into pedestrians in Guangzhou that killed five and leaving 13 injured. The incident has triggered nationwide outrage as many are accusing the man of deliberately targeting people, reported BBC.
On the other hand, the videos that have surfaced online show the driver coming out of the car and throwing banknotes into the air, shortly after the crash, the report added.
A video of the incident has surfaced on social media. The video has graphic visuals which may be disturbing for some.
A 22-year-old man has been detained by the police and an investigation has been launched. The incident took place on Wednesday during the evening rush hour at a busy junction in the southern city with a population of 19 million.’
In a similar recent incident in February last year, a driver plowed a mini truck into people in the southern province of Fujian, killing three and injuring nine.
Recently, a hotel guest in Shanghai last week deliberately drove his car into the lobby after an argument with staff. However, nobody was injured in that incident.
