A new 12-second video released by Iran’s state-linked Mehr News Agency claims to show Supreme Leader Mustafa Khamenei alive and in good health amid ongoing rumours about his death and deteriorating condition. However, the footage has raised fresh questions because it contains no visible date or location, while Khamenei’s full face is not clearly shown. In the video, Khamenei is seen sitting on a carpet with around 10 people around him and appears to be speaking while moving his left hand. The report highlights that his right hand appears largely motionless throughout the footage, while only part of his face is visible. These observations have fuelled speculation about whether he may have suffered injuries, although the footage itself does not establish this. The video’s timing has also attracted attention because it reportedly emerged after Israeli media claims that Khamenei was in serious condition and receiving treatment at a secret location. His absence from public appearances and the lack of a direct address to the Iranian public have added to the uncertainty. A satellite-communication device visible in the footage has also prompted speculation that Khamenei may be maintaining contact with Iran’s leadership from a concealed location. However, there is no independent confirmation of the video’s date, location, or the claims surrounding his health.
