U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to announce a decision regarding future actions on Iran within the next two weeks, according to a statement from the White House. Citing a message from Trump, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters: “Based on the fact that there’s a substantial chance of negotiations that may or may not take place with Iran in the near future, I will make my decision whether or not to go within the next two weeks.”

News agency AFP, quoting the White House, also said that Iran is able to produce a nuclear bomb in a couple of weeks.

“Iran able to produce nuclear bomb in a couple of weeks,” White House said as quoted by news agency AFP.

On Wednesday, President Trump said that he was weighing the option of joining the strikes on Israel and noted that Iran had approached the United States to discuss ending the conflict.

“I may do it, I may not do it,” Trump told reporters. “I can tell you this, that Iran’s got a lot of trouble, and they want to negotiate.”

Xi Jinping, Putin Condemns Israeli Strikes On Iran

Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Thursday strongly condemned Israeli strikes on Iran and called for an immediate ceasefire, especially by Israel, and an end to attacks on civilians. According to news agency PTI, Xi, in a phone call, discussed the Iran-Iran conflict with Putin and said that a ceasefire is an urgent priority in settling the conflict in West Asia, and the use of force is not the right way to resolve international disputes.

This was the first comment by Xi on the recent conflict in the region, amid US President Donald Trump’s warning to Iran and Israel’s threat to target Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

According to the report quoting Kremlin foreign policy aide Yuri Ushakov, “both President Putin and Xi in their hour-long phone call have agreed to issue orders to their relevant agencies to share information on Iran”.

Indian Students Recall Israel-Iran Conflict

We saw missiles in the sky and heard bombs in our neighbourhood… We were petrified, said MBBS student Mir Khalif, his voice still trembling with fear, as he stepped out of the Delhi airport after being evacuated from war-hit Iran under Operation Sindhu. According to news agency PTI, Khalif arrived in the national capital early Thursday in the first evacuation flight carrying 110 Indian students of the Urmia University of Medical Sciences in Iran’s Urmia city as part of the special operation launched by the Indian government in response to the escalating Iran-Israel conflict. The students, including 90 from Jammu and Kashmir, were moved from Tehran to Armenia earlier this week as explosions and aerial attacks rocked Iranian cities.
