India on Monday condemned the recently launched ballistic missile by Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. India’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Ruchira Kamboj said that India condemns the recent ICBM launch by DPRK (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea).

In a video uploaded by the official twitter handle of India at UN, Kamboj said, “Proliferation of nuclear & missile technologies is a matter of concern, as they have an adverse impact on peace & security in the region, including on India. We hope the international community & the Security Council can be united on this front.”

“These launches constitute a violation of resolutions of the Security Council relating to the DPRK. They affect the peace and security of the region and beyond. India calls for full implementation of the relevant UN Security Council relations relating to the DPRK,” Kamboj said, reported ANI.

Earlier on Friday, South Korea’s military said that North Korea launched a ballistic missile at its eastern waters, a day after the North restarted its testing activities in what seemed to be a protest against US efforts to strengthen its alliances with South Korea and Japan.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff for the South stated in a statement that the launch took place on Friday but did not provide any information, such as how far the missile travelled.
