New Delhi: US President Joe Biden has once again garnered attention due to a slip-up as the 79-year-old politician claimed that the Democrats went to “54 states” to defend Obamacare (Affordable Care Act) in 2018.

“And, of course, they’re going try for their (Republicans) 499th time, or whatever the number is — they’re still determined to eliminate the Affordable Care Act.” Biden said during his address at the Pennsylvania Democratic Party Reception on Friday, as quoted in a statement by the White House.

“And, by the way, if they do, that means — not a joke, everybody; that’s why we defeated it in 2018 when they tried to do it.  We went to 54 states. The reason is people didn’t realize that the only reason anybody who has a pre-existing condition can get healthcare is because of that Affordable Care Act. Tens of millions”, he added.

“Folks, these protections will be gone as well if Republicans get their way”, Biden said.

A video of the speech was shared by a fake Donald Trump Twitter account, with “Sleepy Joe Biden claims there are 54 States in the United States of America as concerns continue to mount about his cognitive abilities. There are 50 states in the USA” written along with it.

The video has been video over 73,400 times and Republican supporters used the opportunity to bring up unfounded allegations of election fraud. A Twitter wrote, “I cannot believe people still do not regret voting for this man.” Another wrote, “They had to add 4 extra states to get Biden 10,000 extra votes of course”.

Another user commented, “Biden says there are 54 states in America. Next speech he will explain the 81 million votes.”

“Joe Biden apparently thinks that there are 54 states. This guy is completely senile,” one commented.

You would have to be an apex super loser to lose to a guy who doesn’t even know how many states there are.

This is not Biden’s first gaffe as last month, he referred to a dead congresswoman Jackie Walorski. During his address at a conference on hunger, nutrition, and health in Washington, he thanked bipartisan lawmakers who pushed the White House to organise the event, including Walorski.

“I want to thank all of you here, including bipartisan elected officials like Representative McGovern, Senator Braun, Senator Booker, and Representative Jackie, are you here? Where’s Jackie? I think she was going to be here — to help make this a reality,” Biden said during the conference.

Walorski, a Republican representative from Indiana died in a car accident on August 3 this year.
