Death toll has risen to 13 while 20 were injured after a gunman opened fire in a school in Central Russian city of Izhevsk, said Russia’s Interior Minister, reported news agency AFP. The Udmurtia branch of the interior ministry said the gunman had killed himself and that 20 people were wounded, stated a report by Reuters.
Citing news agency RIA, Governor Alexander Brechalov of the Udmurtia region, of which Izhevsk is the capital, as saying that an unidentified man had entered the school and killed a security guard. He said that there were dead and wounded among the school students, as per the Reuters report.

Victims include seven children who were killed in the shooting at the school with a strength of approxiamtely 1,000 students in the central Russian city, as per a report by BBC. The gunman’s motive behind the act is still unknown stated the report adding that emergency officers were present at the scene.
Footage of the incident posted by Russian media appear to show panic inside the building where the incident took place while some videos also showed blood on a classroom floor and a bullet hole in a window, with children crouching down underneath desks, according to the BBC report.
