Shooting at Or Tor Kor Market
The incident occurred at Or Tor Kor Market, located near Chatuchak market, a major tourist hotspot in the Thai capital.
“Police are investigating the motive. So far it’s a mass shooting,” said Worapat Sukthai, deputy police chief of Bangkok’s Bang Sue district, in a statement to AFP. Officials also confirmed that the shooter died by suicide.
Possible Link to Border Clashes
The deputy police chief further noted that authorities are examining “any possible link” between the mass shooting and the ongoing border clashes between Thailand and Cambodia.
This is a developing story.
